If you’re looking to flex your riding skills and scream on the roads, we might have some good news. Kawasaki ZX-4R has been finally launched for the Indian market. The ZX-4R is unsurprisingly very similar to its larger siblings, ZX-6R and ZX-10R. But in India, it will be only available in the “Metallic Spark Black’ color scheme. So let’s discuss in-depth what are the features listed with the supersport.
Skipping the looks, the ZX-4R fits a scream-potential 399cc liquid-cooled inline-four motor engine pushing out a maximum power of 78 bhp and a peak torque of 39Nm at 13,000 rpm, which is on par with the recently launched Duke 390. The unit is paired with a 6-speed transmission and a slipper clutch. The power unit can howl as high as 15,000 rpm to add exhilaration along with the incredible throttle response and quick responsive gearing system.

The nimble Supersport chassis is held by a trellis frame made from high-tensile steel, designed using Kawasaki’s advanced dynamic rigidity analysis,. The brand says it is directly based on the Ninja ZX-10RR racer. The high-grade suspension system utilizes SFF-BP that perfectly balances performance between track-day and everyday usability. While the Horizontal Back-link rear suspension offers a progressive character. The braking duty is handled by twin 290mm discs at the front and a single 220mm unit at the rear, along with standard dual-channel ABS.
When it comes to the feature list, the Kawasaki ZX-4R fits a 4.3-inch Bluetooth-equipped color TFT dash incorporating turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts. It gets 4 preset riding modes- Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider modes. The last mode has customizations to allow the rider to adjust the traction control and power modes.
Now coming to the price, Kawasaki ZX-4R starts from 8.50 lakhs(ex-showroom). And as the title hints, we’re still confused if it’s fair. One can easily lose another 70,000(over the ex-showroom price) over the Z900 which is significantly more powerful.
